A MAN has been arrested in connection with a car crash in Durley which left an elderly man with serious injuries.
An 88-year-old motorist was trapped in his Saab after it collided with a Citroen C3 on Winchester Road just before 2pm on Sunday.
The Citroen driver left the scene before police arrived.
A 55-year-old man from Southampton has been arrested and reported for summons over driving whilst disqualified, driving without due care and attention, failure to stop after a collision and failure to report a collision.
He was released pending the summons to court.
The 88-year-old is still being treated in Southampton General Hospital for complex leg injuries.
At the time of the crash, Sergeant Dave Sanderson said: "This collision was a horrible ordeal for this elderly couple."
