Firefighters called to shed blaze
FIREFIGHTERS were called to a blaze in Winchester early this morning.
A shed in Salters Lane, which was used to store fire wood, was completely destroyed.
Winchester and Sutton Scotney fire stations sent one appliance each after the call at 4.05am.
Crewmanager Dan Joslin, of Winchester Fire Station, said: "It started from a small fire during the day that the resident tried to put out himself. He hadn't called us and it obviously was not extinguished properly.
"It smouldered away and took hold overnight."
