ROAD works are set for many central routes throughout the South-East.

From Monday several roads will undergo improvement works, including the M3, M27, the A34 and the A303.

Junction 6 of the M3 at Basingstoke will see the Black Dam roundabout worked on. There will be a 30mph speed limit and off-peak lane closures in place until works are finished in autumn.

Works will also take place in Popham as a bridge is waterproofed. This will see a 50mph limit imposed which will be in place in both directions between Junctions 6 and 8 until mid-December. The southbound carriageway between Junctions 7 and 8 will be closed overnight, from 9pm-6am, on Wednesday. A clear diversion will be in place via the A303 and A34.

Junction 5 of the M27 at Eastleigh will see the roundabout worked on to reduce congestion on the northern side. The eastbound exit and entry slip roads will be closed overnight, from 10pm-6am, from Monday for 10 nights. Diversions will be in place via Junctions 7 and 2. Narrow lanes and a reduced speed limit will remain in place until late August.

There is also work on the A34 Milton Intercharge at Oxford seeing narrow lanes and a temporary speed limit in place 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Work is expected to end in spring next year.

Micheldever Station works also start on the A303. The eastbound carriageway between the exit for the A34 at Bullington Cross and the M3 will be closed overnight, from 10pm-6am, on Monday. The westbound carriageway along the same section will also be closed overnight on Tuesday. Diversions will be in place via the A34 and A33 for non-motorway vehicles and the A34 and M3 for all others.
