CIVIC chiefs are pressing ahead with £1.4 million plans for nine new council homes in Alresford.
Winchester City Council wants to revamp a roundabout at Mitford Road, building six small flats and two semi-detached houses on an ageing garage block.
A two-bed bungalow will be built nearby, while the grass traffic island at the centre of the roundabout will become new public space.
Residents have raised concerns over parking build-up but officers said feedback from consultation was largely positive.
The one-bed flats are expected to be let for £114 per week, with the houses at £158 and the bungalow at £166.
A planning application is set to be prepared after the project was approved by cabinet housing committee last week.
