MCDONALD’s in Winchester has re-opened following extensive refurbishment.

The fast-food eatery in St George’s Street will now have what bosses say an innovative way of ordering food through new state-of-the-art kiosks.

The transformation has cost the franchise almost £500,000 as it closed for two weeks for the extensive revamp.

The new kiosks give punters a chance look at the nutritional value of each meal, as well as a new layout and technical enhancements in the kitchen.

To complete the digital transformation, free to use tablets has been installed at some tables for customers who want to check their news feed and emails or play the latest games.

The Winchester McDonald's is one of 10 across the south that is run by franchisee Tony Bennett.

Mr Bennett said: “I am thrilled to be opening my new look restaurant in Winchester alongside my team. As a local businessman I'm very keen to continue to invest in my community.”
