WINCHESTER Cathedral launches its Christmas market and ice rink tomorrow evening from 6.30pm.
The event will be in the Inner Close and includes a skating display, a welcome from the Dean, the Very Rev James Atwell, a short act of worship and carol singing with the boy choristers.
The market, however, will be open to the public from 10am but the formal opening ceremony takes place in the evening. It will close at 7.30pm.
It is the tenth market and ice rink. Initially it attracted tens of thousands with around 40 chalet stalls.
Tomorrow there will be more than 100 and it is expected to attract more than 350,000 visitors.
Next Friday, November 27, there will be a Lantern parade from the Westgate down the High Street to the Outer Close starting at 6.30pm.
