A MAN needed medical treatment by ambulance crews after his car flipped over in a road smash.

The man, believed to be in his 60s, was travelling along Church Street in Upham, near Bishop's Waltham, when his car overturned and landed on its side up against a fence at around 9.30pm last night.

A spokesperson for South Central Ambulance Service said a car had been in collision with another vecicle and overturned.

Fire engines from Eastleigh and Bishop's Waltham also attended and helped the man from his vehicle.

He is believed to have suffered arm injuries and was treated by paramedics but it is not known whether he needed hospital treatment.

An ambulance officer, a hazardous area response team, a rapid response vehicle and an ambulance crew were all sent to the incident.

The fire crews were stood down at 10.40pm.
