THE to-do list when you return from space must be quite long – but Tim Peake eventually got around to a spot of shopping in Winchester.
Britain's astronaut hero was spotted in the street by one of his biggest fans: six-year-old Luca Wilson.
The youngster followed Tim's mission to the International Space Station at school and grabbed his chance to say hello.
"They did a little fist bump," said mum Sue.
"He was sitting on the green with his family and we spotted him walking towards town, so me and Luca thought we'd see if we could get a photo with him.
"He's been growing 'seeds in space' at St Bede [Primary School] – they've been following Tim Peake's progress and they've been planting seeds for him. He's his absolute hero so we couldn't miss the chance to get a photo."
"He was really friendly and very nice to us."
"Luca kept looking up at the sky when he was talking to him. He couldn't quite believe that he was back on the ground."
Luca told the Daily Echo that it was "awesome" to meet his hero on Thursday.
Mr Peake, born in Chichester and a Portsmouth University graduate, won even more hearts in Hampshire when he posted a stunning photo of the south coast from space.
He returned to earth on June 18 after seven months in space.
