A Winchester pre-school and church is offering free children’s music workshops on Saturday afternoon - March 25.

The workshop is meant to tie in with the BBC ten pieces initiative which links to the primary music curriculum. The aim of the BBC 10 pieces is to inspire and introduce children to the classical music world.

If children don't play an instrument they are encouraged to respond creatively in any way they choose - dance, art or movement.

The Pico Players, a London based amateur orchestra last seen on the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing, will be playing ‘In the Hall of the Mountain King’ by Edvard Grieg and will be inviting children and adults to come and conduct them.

The Pico Players Music Workshop will be at St Paul’s Church from 3.30-5.00pm. Places will need to be reserved via picoplayerswinchester@gmail.com
