WINCHESTER Rotary have launched a new Reminiscence Café at St John's Moorside Care Home.
The Mayor of Winchester, Cllr Jane Rutter, accepted an invitation to attend on one of her last official engagements.
An increasing number of people are living with dementia. Many are cared for by family, often without professional help and
understanding to guide and comfort them on this long, irreversible journey.
Rotary Reminiscence Café can help in many ways, offering friendship, conversation, music, and activities within the security and hospitality of St John's Moorside Care Home which specialises in dementia care.
St John's Charity Winchester and Rotary Winchester, share many of the same aims and values: care in the community, help and understanding, discretion and thoughtfulness.
The Rotary Reminiscence Café Mornings take place on the second Thursday of each month, with the exception of August, from 10.30am until Noon. Hospitality is free. Contact Rotarian Diana Brooks. Telephone: 01962 852782. Email: letterstodifor@gmail.com
