THE Winchester version of the famous board game Monopoly has sold out at a city centre store.

The special version of the family favourite was launched last week featuring the city's landmarks and it is now selling out fast.

Waterstones in The Brooks Shopping Centre is temporarily out of stock, but hopes to restock by next week.

WH Smiths furtherd own the High Street had many in its window.

Following a public vote landmarks such as the cathedral, Jane Austen's house in College Street, King Alfred's Statue and the Theatre Royal all feature on the board game.

Homeless charity Trinity Winchester also features, replacing the Old Kent Road square.

The game has a Winchester-themed Community Chest and Chance cards, including one which rewards players for winning ‘a Jane Austen writing contest’, while another pays big dividends ‘gaining a First at Winchester University and landing a dream job’.
