COUNCILLORS could approve plans to spend around £530 million on the county’s infrastructure after cabinet members unanimously backed spending plans this week.
Hampshire County Council will meet later this month to vote on the capital budget for the next three years, with plans to improve Hampshire’s roads and schools.
The spending includes a proposed £146m investment in new and extended school buildings, and £97m for repairs and maintenance of existing schools and public buildings.
A further £120 million has been earmarked for structural maintenance of roads and bridges.
The capital programme includes nine major infrastructure schemes totalling £108.6m.
Investment of £11 million is also proposed to protect against the risk of flooding and for coastal defence.
The plans will go before the county’s full council on February 22.
