HUNDREDS of cocktail lovers took to venues across the city as Winchester Cocktail Week returned with a host of events.

More than 20 venues took part in the festival, o?ering workshops, masterclasses, and parties.

Gary Whiter, from festival organiser Cabinet Rooms, said: “We have had a great response from this year’s festival and have enjoyed following people’s adventures on social media as they toured the city, trying out all the drinks on o?er.”

New for this year was the ‘Fever-Tree Safari’ which, like the Gin Trail from previous years, saw 13 venues o?ering premium drinks for £4, including local gins with tonic and premium bourbon whiskies with ginger ale.

During the festival, people were encouraged to try out new things and learn more about the cocktails they were drinking.

Gary said: “There was a lot going on during the week and the success of the festival is really down to all the businesses taking part.

“The organisation of the event is a massive undertaking and it really wouldn’t be possible without the support of our sponsors Rooster, Bacardi Brown-Forman Brands, Winchester Distillery, Nectar Imports and Fever-Tree.”

He added that his attentions will now turn to the Ginchester Fête being held in the city in June.
