Village could expand by 35 homes
PLANNERS are poised to decide whether 35 homes can be built in South Wonston.
The applicant, Bellway Homes (Wessex), wants to use a plot between the two spurs of Downlands Way.
The scheme has triggered 10 letters of objection from villagers who are concerned about extra traffic and the site being over-developed. They also questioned the need for a proposed path from the site to Downs Road nearby.
Winchester City Council officers have taken a different view, advising that the scheme should proceed.
However, the final decision will be made by the planning committee, which is scheduled to meet at Winchester Guildhall on Thursday, July 24.
