DEVELOPERS are to have another go at securing permission for eight new homes in Bishop's Waltham.
Mapledean Developments Ltd wants to build in the back gardens of five properties - Hazeldene, Fernbank, Willowbank, Endsleigh and St Osyth - in Rareridge Lane.
Winchester City Council rejected a previous scheme for eight homes on design grounds, which was upheld by a Government planning inspector.
However, the council's planning officers argue that the revised scheme is better and should proceed.
Several residents disagree, with 17 of them writing to the authority in objection.
The final decision rests with the council's planning committee, which meets at Winchester Guildhall on Thursday, July 24.

Matilda, Bishops Waltham says...

planning application's
alway's seem to get the go ahead anyway in the end??
From a safety aspect there are too many homes in Rareridge Lane already, the Bovis estate was built and this has caused a rat run through Oak Road down through the Ridgemede estate. Cars drive at ridiculous speeds through Oak Road several cat's have been killed and this could so easily be a child, there are also two schools on the estate. Yes go ahead and build yet more homes in Rareridge Lane but keep the traffic in Rareridge Lane also, put bollards at the top of Oak Road before a child is killed??
