A NEW business has opened the doors to the world of children’s role play in Tidworth.

Mayor of Tidworth Town Council, councillor Mark Connolly, cut the ribbon to officially open Little Big Town in Pennings Road, on Saturday, 16 September.

The centre is a role play world with six settings – currently a garden, beach, vets, London bus, shop and a pre-walker section – which encourages children to use their imagination through play.

Owner and military wife Hollie Tucker was inspired to set the business up after moving to Tidworth and giving birth to her little girl. She said: “I found that if I wanted to go out for the day I had to go in the car as there was nowhere in town. I wanted to bring something to the local community and it is in walking distance from all of the major housing estates so even if people can’t drive they have somewhere to go.”

She added: “Saturday went really well, we were very busy and had lots of positive feedback.”

Councillor Connolly said: “Tidworth has been crying out for a business like Little Big Town to open. With so many young people in the town, there is now somewhere local that parents can come with their children. It was a pleasure to open such a needed facility and I wish Hollie great success.”

Little Big Town is open seven days a week with four play sessions a day Monday to Saturday and three on Sundays. Role play themes will be changed regularly and the centre caters for birthday parties. For more information, visit the Little Big Town Facebook page.
