FATHER Christmas will visit Overton tonight for the annual Late Night Shopping event.

The jolly figure will bring presents for the children of Overton, while parents will have the opportunity to explore many of the village’s shops, which will stay open throughout the evening.

Organised by the Overton Business Association, this year’s event will consist of many recurring elements including an appearance from the popular Little Dallas Donkey and various fairground rides.

There will also be a market, held in the Clock and Thyme as well as food and drink stands serving hot food and drinks such as mulled wine.

However this year the OBA say they have put effort in to improving activities for children and are hoping their ‘Pop Tots Disco’ will prove a big success.

Chairperson of the OBA, Alexis Walmsley said: “We are going to do a few different things again this year especially in terms of children’s entertainment.

“The market is going to be a bit special too.

“I think it’s going to be a nice festive event for the village.”

The event starts at 5.30pm with Father Christmas expected to arrive around 6pm.
