NEW community facilities are set to be built in Whitchurch as part of funding coming from a housing development.

David Wilson Homes has provided funding towards new playing fields, sports pitches and a sports pavilion with changing facilities as part of its Mill Springs development, pictured, in Micheldever Road.

The contribution has come from S106 developer funding which is being used by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council and Hampshire County Council for the improvements.

Michelle Store, David Wilson Homes sales director, said: “These important amenities are integral part of building new homes here in Whitchurch, We’re delighted to be ensuring the area has excellent community provisions and open space for local residents.

“The new building and pitches will benefit many living here - and we look forward to seeing the facilities being enjoyed by as many people as possible.”

The David Wilson Homes’ project also includes contributions to help pay for improvements to Whitchurch Parish Hall , the provision of both primary and secondary education, and a school bus facility to drop off and pick up pupils of Testbourne Community School.

The development will consist of two, three, four and five bedroom homes. Ms Store added: “With such a popular location we’re expecting the new development to be extremely sought-after. Add to that the new community facilities, and we are extremely proud of the work our team is involved in here in Whitchurch.” For more information about the homes, call 0844 5710 385 or visit dwh.co.uk
