A FORTNIGHT of “fun and frolics” at Whitchurch’s Rotations Charity Shop has raised more than £3,000 for a community organisation.

Unity, previously known as Test Valley Community Services, were hosted at the shop from 12 to 26 April to sell donated items to go towards its work helping people suffering with loneliness or isolation in the borough.

A variety of volunteers from Unity, and everyday healthcare company Simplyhealth, manned the shop over the two-week period.

Unity voluntary sector support manager Dawn Elson said: “This fortnight has been great fun not only as a team building exercise but also as a fundraiser for the charity, although it has been hard work!”

Unity also runs a volunteering centre which promotes opportunities, runs events and other awareness activities.

The charity's volunteering service helps charities and groups who need volunteers and matches people interested in helping out.
