THE achievements of a Hampshire student have been celebrated at a national event.
Melanie Edwards from New Milton was one of more than 104 further education students who have been supported by the Helena Kennedy Foundation to overcome a variety of obstacles.
Melanie attended Brockenhurst College and is now studying Adult Nursing at the University of Southampton, having successfully overcome severe anxiety in order to achieve her success.
Each student selected by the Helena Kennedy Foundation received a bursary of £1,500 to help cover the costs of university study, as well as on-going guidance and training from the Foundation.
