WORSENING economic conditions have seen the demand for emergency food boxes increase in the Andover area.
Andover Food Bank is delivering emergency food boxes to a wider area and expects this trend to continue as school holidays approach and there is added demand to replace free school meals.
To maintain stock levels volunteers have recently collected food outside two supermarkets. The collection outside the new Andover ASDA store saw 329kgs of food collected with donations amounting to £19.79, while a collection outside Sainsbury's town centre store collected 255kgs of food and £37.27.
