A FIREBUG is believed to have set alight three cars in Whitchurch and Overton during the last two weeks.
In the early hours of Monday, April 27, a Ford Focus was set alight while it was parked in Station Road, Whitchurch. The car was damaged but nobody was injured.
Between 5pm on the same day, and 7.30am on Tuesday, April 28, a white Peugeot 106 was set on fire and severely damaged in the car park of the Gill Nethercott Community Centre, in Winchester Street, Whitchurch.
Nobody was hurt in the blaze.
PC Adam Pink, of the Whitchurch targeted patrol team, has linked the incidents with a similar attack on Tuesday, April 14, when a Nissan Almera was set on fire near to Overton railway station.
He added: “We are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed any of these incidents. Fires like this are extremely dangerous and it is fortunate that nobody has been injured.”
Anyone with information can contact PC Pink at Whitchurch police station on 0845 045 4545, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
