ZIGGY Beesley from Overton has just returned from Florida in the United States where he has been playing for the Great Britain Hockey Inline National Squad.

The pupil of Testbourne Community School, who have been very supportive to him in his sporting endeavours, only started playing roller hockey this season.

He was selected for the Under-12 conference team, which also won the conference finals against teams from right across Britain.

From there Beesley was picked for the GBHI squad, in a national team comprising the brightest talents from the GB Academy, to take part in the tournament.

Out in America he picked up two assists in a very high calibre tournament, which included future National Hockey League players.

Beesley, who has just turned 12, would like one day to play ice hockey professionally. He took up the game aged six.

Last season, he was part of the very successful Bracknell Bees under-12 side that won the National Championships.
