Whitchurch Squash cruise past Lee on Solent

Whitchurch Squash first team travelled to Lee on Solent hoping for a repeat victory despite captain Dave Adamson having several seniors players unavailable.
At five, Dave Hicks continued his excellent recent form against an unorthodox player with a convincing 3-0 win while at four Mike Strong faced a fast improving junior - his least favoured opponent. Mike quickly found himself 1-0 down and 4-8 in the second but bravely fought back to win 10-9. The match swung as the young lad’s confidence wavered and Mike’s retrieving improved for a 3-1 win.
Adamson at two maintained his concentration once he was in control and despite the void of drop shots won well 3-0.
At three Biffer Gibson had too much power for his opponent and breezed to a one sided 3-0 and finally at one, Brett Farmer used the gulf in ability to run the Lee on Solent first string all over the court before kindly putting him out of his misery for another 3-0.
