Robins’ hard work in preparing an excellent pitch against all the odds came to nothing last night as visiting Fleet Spurs went away with the points after a 3-0 victory.

Allan Ralph went close with a volley but Spurs’ huge strike force were causing problems although it was pint sized Tom Chillery who broke the deadlock on the half hour with a spectacular strike.

Mike Barker had a goal disallowed for offside before the break but the match hinged on a Steve Witt free-kick on the hour. His deflected effort hit the post and fell to Danny Field who shot over from close range and after Barker’s looped header had landed on the top of the net Spurs took advantage and a double from Sam Knowles saw them home.
