The Hampshire Golf Club’s August Medal saw 69 golfers taking part and once again there were some very good performances. In the Saturday Division 1 there were some low scores and it was Dan Stead (13) who came out on top with a superb round of 77, net 64 to win by two strokes. Peter Rushworth (11) finished in only second place with his excellent net score of 66. Both now have lower handicaps; 11 and ten respectively.

Steve Pyle (5) also deserves a mention as he returned an excellent round of 73, 68 net. In Division 2 consistent Order of Merit leader Colin Harris (23) won with a net 68 and his new handicap is probably still not low enough at 21.

Steve Hatcher (16) finished second with a net 70. The Sunday competition saw Luke Neve (4) win Division 1 with a superb round of gross 73, net 69 and Steve Decosimo (11) returned a net 71 to clinch second spot. Stephen McLaren (15) had the better back nine when winning Division 2 with a net 72 with David Miller (16) carding the same score but not such a good back nine to finish in second place on count back.
