Bill ‘Superfoot’ Wallace known as “the man with the 60mph foot” will be holding a seminar at Martial Art World this evening as part of his UK tour.

Bill Wallace is a martial arts legend who has competed against Chuck Norris, Bruce Lee, Joe Lewis and Skipper Mullins, having made his professional debut as a kick- boxer in 1972.

He has also appeared in films alongside Norris, Jackie Chan and John Belushi and in 1978 was elected into the Black Belts Magazine Hall of Fame as Man of the Year.

This is Wallace’s second visit to Martial Art World after a sell out seminar last April. He is a lively and engaging teacher and a great hit with the juniors as well as senior pupils at the academy. “I’ve been all over the world and this academy is fantastic. In a lot of big schools they have a great pro-shop but it stops there.

‘The phenomenal difference here is the training area for the students, plus the superb instructors. They taught me as much as I taught them,” said Wallace.

“I started in 1963, when there very few karate schools. Most people learnt it through the military.

Before Wallace turned pro he met Elvis Presley and worked for him.

“I met Elvis at his karate school. When I met him for the first time I was all possum eyed.

They became good friends and in 1973 Wallace had a major injury, Elvis flew in a Los Angeles acupuncturist to treat him at Elvis’s Graceland Manor.

Wallace retired undefeated as Professional Karate Association (PKA) Middleweight Champion in June 1980 after his 23rd straight victory of a 15 year career in tournament and full contact fighting.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in 1971 in physical education from Ball State University and went on to attain his Master’s in Kinesiology from Memphis State University. He has taught karate, judo, wrestling and weight-lifting at Memphis State University and has also written a text book about karate and kinesiology and now travels the world giving seminars.

Bill will be providing a seminar and autograph signing session for the Martial Art World Little Ninja 4-9 year olds, followed by a family session between 6.30 and 8.30pm this evening at their full-time academy.
