The fine weather seems to have brought the best out of the Hampshire GC golfers with some superb scoring in the monthly Stableford.
Finally released from their wet clothing, they were able to play much better and the scores reflected that fact.
The Division 1 Saturday competition was won by Paul Ridge (14) with a magnificent 42 points and his handicap is deservedly now 12. Stephen Pyle (6) could rightfully be disappointed to finish runner-up as his superb 40 points would normally have won the competition. However, he will no doubt be delighted to be playing off a five handicap from now on.
Geoffrey Morris (13) was third with a fine 38.
In Division 2 the scoring was even better and Steve Hatcher (17) returned an amazing 44 to win by four clear points and he will now play off 15. Tom Bannister (15) finished second with 40 and a new handicap of 14.
Matthew Woodman (18) continued his good form with 39 points and third place and the high scoring continued in the Sunday Division 1 with Paul Harrison (9) returning a gross two over par score off his nine handicap for an amazing 43 and first place.
He will also be pleased to be playing off eight now. John Ward (7) also played well and his 39 score saw him finish  second and he is now off six.
Club captain Barry Thorne (13) finished with 36 to claim third place and in Division 2, Andrew Seton (20) won with 37 points with Paul Greenwood (25) second with 35 and David Miller (16) third with 34.
