Andover White Collar Boxing Club coach Ryan Rawlinson has organised a 24 hour boxathon for May 9 to raise funds for Gary Durban, who was sadly diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease.
Tidworth-based Gary is a serving soldier in Ryan’s old regiment and the fundraiser is to help raise the £10k needed for equipment for Gary to be able to communicate with his young children as the disease progresses.
No money will be made for anything else and the club is situated at the Andover Martial Arts and Fitness Centre and they have allowed the use of the centre for 24 hours free of charge.
The boxing team will take part in a 24 hour boxing session from 7pm on the ninth to 7pm on the tenth and are currently collecting sponsorships.
Thhere is a ‘Go Fund Me’ account set up, and information on their Facebook page.
