The March Medal at The Hampshire GC saw good support for the Saturday competition but the poor weather on the Sunday meant very few played that day.
Of the Saturday players competition secretary Steve Pyle (5) played a fantastic round in Division 1 to win with a gross 72, net 67 including two eagles and three birdies.
Sadly the 18th did him no favours with a triple bogey seven but nonetheless it was a brilliant round and he will now play off four.
Sean Norris (13) also played a great round of net 68 for second place and will now play off 12. Peter Rushworth (10) took third place with a net 70.
In Division 2, the scoring was also very good and John Davis (19) had his best round for some time with a net 68 to win, and his handicap now goes down to 18.
P Allen (22) also returned a net 68 but lost out on countback to finish second and his handicap too is now reduced to 21. Third was John Williams (18) net 69.
It was not surprising that only 13 players ventured out on Sunday in rainy conditions.
Paul Harrison (8) was the best of the bunch in Division 1 with a net 70 with Nigel Gough (10) second with a net 71 and Tom Bannister (14) third with a net 72.
In Division 2 it was a day of high scoring and David Leach (17) won with Roy Harris (15) second.
