First published in Sport by

In the Hampshire GC April Stableford Stephen Pyle (4) once again shone with an excellent 37 point score to win the Division 1 prize.

Following up on his success in the April Medal where he returned a gross 72 with a seven on the last hole, he will be pleased with a par four on the 18th which gave him a level par back nine.

Nigel Gough (10) also returned a 37 but had to settle for second due to an inferior back nine and Sean Norris (12) was third with 36.

In Division 2, Jordan Brown (21) returned the best score of the weekend with 39 points to win while David Leach (17) appears to be finding some form of late as he finished n second with 38. Mike Batisson (15) came third with 37 and all three will now play off handicaps that are one less than at the start of the competition. The club held two Texas Scrambles over Easter and in the Friday event Julie Dixon, Rosemary Parnell, John Francis and Matt Adamson emerged victorious with a net score of 57.9.

Glennis Robson, Ted Hurdle, Gareth Hughes and Ian Folkes were second on 60.2 while Angela Thrower, Kim Couch, John Ward and Barry Crane were third with 60.4.

The Monday event saw John Francis in the winning team once again, ably assisted this time by Dave Miller and Kim Couch.

Glennis Robson was again in the second placed team and was also ably assisted by Dave Preston and Terry Bone.
