Twentieth anniversary celebrations begin at Martial Art World

Martial Art World continues its 20th anniversary year with its first double black belt grading for Korean Kickboxing and Taekwondo, with the second in October.

A total of 15 students gained their black belts after the formal assessment, increasing the total number through Martial Art World to 284 during the 20 year period. By October they will have helped more than 300 students become Black belts, and leaders within their local communities.

Kim Griffths, Phillip Allon, Emily Kenny and Rhys Brazier (of Harrow Way School), were awarded black belts in Tae Kwon Do.

Adrian Pearson earned the title of Korean Kickboxing black belt.

Father and son Simon and Levi Verschuren became MAW first first Dan in Korean Kickboxing. They now have dual black belts in Tae kwon do and Korean Kickboxing.

Father Peter Redden and daughters Claudia and Mia achieved dual black belts along with Edward Bailey of Winton School, David Wallis, Jim Griffiths, Alexander Oak (of the Wellington Academy) and Jason Burkwood (from Harrow Way School).

Simon Meer, Ibrahim Alasadi and his three sisters Noor, Marwa and Safa Alasadi also achieved dual black belts.

Students who earned their black belt mid-terms in Tae Kwon Do were Edward Drew (of Rookwood School), Kieran-Jones Gill, SimonVerschuran, Richard McKevvitt and Neville Reveley.

Paul Bird, Neville Reveley and father and son Callum and Ben Pinches, achieved mid-term awards for their next Dan in Korean Kickboxing.

The Masters panel were delighted with the standard of all of the students who were under assessment, and congratulated them all for their extremely high standard and effort!

The next special event to celebrate thee 20th anniversary are seminars and gradings with Supreme Master Kim Bok Man – who is the only surviving member of the first generation of founding fathers of Taekwondo.

This is open to all Taekwondo practitioners regardless of affiliation.
