Penton v Thruxton.
Thruxton and Penton tried their hardest to beat the weather but to no avail.
Penton batted first on a wet pitch and, unsurprisingly, runs were hard to come by. It was not much better for the bowlers but both sides gamely battled on.
Matt Knight made a breakthrough for JPD Property Services sponsored Thruxton in the sixth over, followed by two wickets in an over for Adam Mills in the ninth – but the third shower at the end of the 15th proved to be the worst and the wet and bedraggled players trudged off for the last time.
By the time they had changed the pitch was flooded at one end.
lAll other matches in the Hants and Southern Premier invloving local clubs were rained off.
