Arms Athletic 2 Barton Stacey 1 aet.
Jimmy Monro Open Cup Final.
For the third time this season Arms had to go the distance to secure their third trophy.
In a first half of few chances Barton had a shot cleared off the line but the first action of the second half saw Arms take the lead when Mark Keogh's long ball into the box was headed home by Mark Bowsher. The introduction of Dave Cotter seemed to galvanise Barton and after a number of near misses and another goal line clearance from man of the match Matt Scott, Dane Adams finally netted to level the scores following another goalmouth scramble. The first period of extra-time remained goalless but the momentum appeared to be with Barton. However, at the beginning of the second period another ball into the box was flicked on by Scott for Bowsher to net his second. Chances continued to come Barton's way but stout defending and the crossbar kept them out to the finish.
