Chris and Co off and running at Andover Bowls Club

Andover Bowls Club’s Salisbury and District Men’s League team One played at Pewsey II winning on all rinks gaining 14 points and followed up with a 12 points win at home against Tisbury on Monday evening with all rinks winning.

This is a good start to the season for captain Chris Sutton and his team.

Team II played at home to Salisbury on Tuesday losing 14-0 in a game which was even at the halfway point. The Basingstoke and District Men’s Rink team came down to earth with a 5-0 home defeat against Oakley on Friday evening with two of the three rinks only losing on the final ends.

The Stan Hardman League team travelled to the league new members Medstead on Thursday and were trounced 74-34 on the home team’s artificial playing surface.

The Ladies travelled to Hedge End on Saturday to play the first round of the Thornbury Trophy but unfortunately came away second best on this occasion.

This weekend Andover have games in the Men’s Top Club away on Saturday and the Mixed Top Club at home on Sunday against Waterside and a touring side from Cricklade visit the green on Monday for a friendly starting at 2pm.
