Redlynch and Hale III v Thruxton.
Thruxton got their delayed campaign off to a winning start with a convincing win over Redlynch and Hale III.
Asked to bat first Redlynch made a steady start until Matt Knight had opener Smith caught behind in the sixth over. Fellow opening bowler Adam Mills soon removed Redlynch's other opener a couple of overs later and by the 14th over they had lost two more wickets to Knight and had limped to 43-4.
There then ensued a 44 run partnership lasting 11 overs before Sean Yates had young Sells well caught behind by Steve Winstone for a steady 20.
Redlynch stuck around until the final over when Knight (5-23) capped a fine spell by trapping their last man. He was well supported by Mills (2-24), Dean Cresswell, Yates and Paul Harvey who took the remaining wickets.
Chasing 117 Thruxton's openers got off to a blistering start knocking 48 in six overs when Mills was bowled for 19. Fellow opener Yates dominated, ably backed by Steve Pickett (13) and ensured an early finish with 73 not out, easily his best score for two years.
Thruxton reached their target in 16 overs
