Castle Combe in Wiltshire was the latest stop off point for local man Ray Ferguson who is now racing in the circuit’s own Saloon Car Championship writes Tim Crisp.
It enjoyed a very large entry list at this meeting where there were 31 cars in Ray's race.
The 15 minutes of qualifying for the saloons was the last of the morning sessions, however in sunny conditions Ferguson posted a time of 1:26.847 which meant he would start the 15 lap race of the 1.85 mile track from 27th position overall and sixth in class.
Ray made a good start under cloudy skies with the odd spot of rain and as the race settled down found himself in his MG ZR in a race long battle with fellow class C driver James Blake who also races an MG ZR.
At the chequered flag Ray brought the MG home in 17th place and seventh in class. The next Castle Combe meeting is on Saturday June 14.
