In the Whitchurch Bowls League Andover B had an easy 51-39 (4-1) victory away to Hyde Abbey and move up to fourth place in Division 1.

St Mary Bourne Hawks remain in the relegation zone after losing 40-58 (1-4) to Basingstoke Spades.

Newly promoted Whitchurch Blacks and Whitchurch Yellows both won away from home and now occupy the two top positions in Division 2. Blacks beat Hook Hares (52-37) and Yellows beat St Mary Bourne Eagles (62-44) and both teams picked up four points.

At the other end of the Division Bob Wood, Jim Catchpole and Mick Corden recorded the highest winning rink margin for the week (24-7) in the Andover A game against Oakley B.

This was not enough to avoid a 43-50 (1-4) defeat and Andover A now find themselves in the relegation zone .

Andover C returned to winning form by beating Hyde Abbey B at home 45-38 and the four points earned move them into third spot in Division 4.

St Mary Bourne Merlins had a bye and remain in sixth place.
