The Junior section of the Tidworth Garrison GC welcomed teams from clubs throughout Hampshire and Wiltshire making an attendance of 42 juniors, which included seven young ladies.

This is a popular annual event and the Bowmaker format gives everyone a chance to contribute with the two best of the four Stableford scores on each hole to count.

The wetter weather seemed to avoid Tidworth and the young golfers took on a well-prepared course on a cloudy but fairly warm day.

Junior golfers are known for their lack of fear when taking on fairways and going for the green, but wayward shots were punished by the rough.

Competition for the prizes, the first of which was sponsored by TaylorMade, was intense with only three points separating the first five teams.

However the team from Bramshaw took the honours with 80 points.

Club Captain Brian Hutchins presented the prizes and congratulated all for taking part and on their behalf, thanked Brian Bosley, Sally Powell and Peter Blake of Tidworth, for such a successful day.
