OT and Romsey II v Amport.
Amport travelled to Romsey hoping to extend their long winning run, but sadly on this occasion to no avail.
Captain Lee Ayers was not surprised to be bowling on a pitch which historically gets tougher to bat on.
Openers Robbie Skeates (1-45 from ten) and Brandon Smith (2-40 from eight) worked hard, but the Romsey top order kept the scoring rate at above four, without taking too many risks.
Brandon struck, first clean bowling DeStefano and Skeates also followed up quickly with a deserved caught behind chance.
Romsey’s number four, helping his side out from the first team, looked a powerful player, and despite early chances, went on to make an impressive 75 before being bowled by Leighton Bone (2-31 from seven) in the latter stages.
The Romsey innings went along steadily without ever  getting too far away from the village side, and with Dean Woodhouse picking up 1-44, and Ian Langdown 3-39 in the middle overs, Amport remained optimistic at tea, with 209 to chase down.
The second innings however went far from planned as a mixture of poor shot selection and tight bowling meant Amport never really got going.
There was nothing to panic about at 72-2, but when Nick Bone was adjudged caught the  innings began to slide.
Woodhouse and Langdown did bring an air of assurance to proceedings but when both holed out in close succession, Amport’s resistance gave way.  The last six wickets fell for just 40 runs and despite a rearguard action from Alex Ayers and Bone, Amport were disappointed to end up on 145, some way short of their best.
