There were no Ladies’ League games this week for Andover Bowls Club but in the Basingstoke League the ladies are second with a game in hand and hold a handy fourth place in the Salisbury and District Ladies League.

In the Stan Hardman League, St Mary Bourne were the visitors and, after a close game on a very warm afternoon, ‘Bourne came out 6-1 winners. In the Basingstoke and District Men’s Rink League, the team travelled to Oakley and a 4-1 win helped in the fight to avoid relegation.

On Saturday, in the Salisbury and District Men’s League, the first clash between ‘team one’ and ‘team two’ resulted in the former gaining a 14-0 victory to maintain the challenge for the title.

The teams are now starting a period of intensive competition in the leagues with games coming thick and fast.
