Ludgershall Sports 0 Stockbridge 0.

Thursday evening saw a goalless draw at Astor Crescent, in a very competitive third pre season for the new Robins.

With several changes from Saturdays 1-0 defeat to local rivals Romsey Town, Stockbridge were without Nick Chandler and Danny Field, both recovering from minor injuries, however Ashley Child's returned to the squad and debuts for Gavin Burgess, Lee Hamilton and Dan Kempson still left the Robins in good shape.

Ludgershall started the stronger and should have been three up after 20 minutes but for some poor finishing and a fine save from keeper Kempson.

On the half hour Stockbridge finally began to find their feet and Jazz Beavis found himself in space after good link up play with Jack Hutchings, forcing a fine save from Danny Harrison.

Half-time saw Robins’ manager Dean Hutchins make several changes and good work early on from Brad Craney, Dave Cotter and Tommy Burton in midfield gave former Thatcham Town striker Lee Hamilton a glorious chance that was well saved by Harrison.

With three 16-year olds in defence for Ludgershall, the industrious Childs went close on several occasions but was unable to convert. On the hour former Salisbury academy player Rich Tandy out-foxed the defence but his strike was once again saved by Harrison.

Ludgershall were able to mount a final attack and a free-kick just before time nearly caught out keeper Alex Thompson but he was able to react and push the effort onto the post and collect quickly.

Stockbridge went down 4-1 at home to Wessex Premier League Fareham Town on Tuesday night in a hastily arranged friendly at the Rec.

Both sides fielded large squads and the first half was more even until Wayne Boud netted on the half hour.

Two strikes from Rudi Plummer and one from John Wilson made it four while Jack Hutchings scored for the Robins who battled well all evening against the side two divisions above them.
