Burridge II v Longparish.

Longparish travelled to title chasing Burridge II and in searing heat won the toss and opted to bat. Sam White picked up a couple of wickets to reduce them to 14-2 in the fifth. Spin bowling was key, and Burridge tweakers Wickramasinghe and Wright drew a tentative batting performance from the Longparish lineup that capitulated for 118 in the 42nd over.

Void of spinners, ‘Parish trusted to their energetic seam attack, but a poor performance in the field saw a succession of catches shelled as Burridge cruised to a nine wicket win with Styles unbeaten on a brutal 58 sending them into the relegation zone and desperately seeking form with only five league games remaining.

Longparish II v Farley.

Longparish II batted first and lost three quick wickets early before Gary Taplin (26) and Chris Clarke (27) restored some order. Tim Oram added 23 but Roberts bowled superbly for Farley picking up 5-23 from ten overs as Longparish II were all out for 119. Oliver Coetzee and Gary Taplin picked up a wicket each and Clarke took 3-22 from his ten overs, but Andy Covenery struck an unbeaten 59 to see Farley to a five wicket win.

AWE Tadley IIv Longparish III.

Longparish III put in one of their best batting performances of the season in an exciting game at AWE Tadley. Most batsmen made a contribution but Martin Bearpark hit 32 at the top of the order and Harry Samways added 32 as they set Tadley a target of 193 for victory. Will Arnold picked up the key wicket of Maton for 54 and Nathan Smith and Callum Giles picked up a wicket each, but Harry Samways ripped through the Tadley top order with 3-54 to secure a six run win and maintain their charge for promotion.
