Dan has also been selected to race in the European Long Course Championships in Almere, Holland together with GB first-timer Jason Briley. The race in Almere is over a full iron distance course.

James Barber has recently been selected for the first time for the World Standard Distance Championships in Edmonton. Jan Taplin will also be making her GB debut in Edmonton in the Sprint Distance Championship before going onto the 2015 European Sprint Distance Championships in Geneva.

Peter Whent is another GB first-timer and has been selected to race in the European Middle Distance Championships being held in Majorca in October.

Chairman of Andover Triathlon Club, sponsored by VW Heritage Sailsbury, Rupert Griffiths commented: β€œIt is an extraordinary achievement that a small local triathlon club like ours has produced five Great Britain triathletes in a single season.

It is a feather in the cap of our coaches and the enthusiasm of our members that these five have been able to earn the honour of wearing GB colours.

We wish them all the best of luck.”
