Follands Sports 2 Andover Town 3.

After their first match in the Wessex League Premier Division on Saturday, Andover Town manager Neil Benson made two changes in the starting line up from that match at Blackfield and Langley.

Claudio Herbert and Matt Scott replaced Lewis Alderman and the injured Lewis Benson with Jordan O’Donnell operating in front of the back four with Craig Blakeman, Tom Riddell and Nic Turpin on the bench.

The early stages were even with both sides sounding each other out until on the half hour Town took the lead.

Home man Jake Long was red-carded for a foul and the free-kick resulted in Alex Dockree heading home, to the delight of the visitors.

Five minutes later, the home side were level when former Andover FC striker Ashley Jarvis equalised.

The second half started with the home side in the ascendency, and after ten minutes Ryan Long put them ahead.

Benson replaced Ike Robertson with Craig Blakeman and Riddell replaced Ollie Yates and Andover pressed for an equaliser and were rewarded with a quarter of an hour to go when a Michael Dixon shot was parried but fell to Herbert who scored.

Turpin replaced Dixon and with ten minutes left Follands went down to nine men when Harris was sent off for a tackle on Herbert.

Andover had the final say when some good play saw Herbert on a good run and his pass ended with Turpin finishing off the move.

With Town not involved in league or FA Cup action there is a friendly on Saturday at Sparsholt College when Andover Town play New Milton at 11am.
