Stockbridge 0 Headley United 1.

Stockbridge had a really bad day at the office as they lost 1-0 to Headley at the Recreation Ground. The Robins’ players were the first to admit it was a poor performance and the scoreline could have been worse with the visitors missing a penalty and when a second penalty was awarded things looked bleak for the home side but keeper Dan Kempson pulled off a great save to keep Stockbridge in the game.

The visitors took the lead on ten minutes when a cross from the right was put home by Curtis Thorne then Stockbridge went near to getting an equaliser just after the half hour when Ashley Childs broke through the Headley defence only to see his shot go just past the far post.

The second half was a scrappy affair with both sides giving the ball away too easy and the nearest Stockbridge came to scoring was on 80 minutes when a cross from Jazz Beavis was headed just past the post by Danny Field. Next Saturday they travel to Paulsgrove where they will hope to rekindle the good form they showed in the first two games of the season.
