TIGERS had an emphatic 30-4 win over Hanson Dolphins in Division 1 of the Andover Table Tennis League.

Andy Snellgrove teamed up with Eddie Schumark and Colin Sheppard to record a maximum three sets each.

Hanson Pumas recorded a resounding 27-12 win over Hanson Jaguars, with Richard Fettes and Shaun Carver winning three sets each ably supported with two from Danas Kairys.

Hanson A lost to Hanson Cougars 21-19 with Dan Geary and Peter Henderson taking two sets each for the A team.

Andy Barnes (Cougars) kept up his 100 per cent record winning his three.

The win was clinched for Cougars in the last match, the doubles, where ex-Andover doubles champions Geary and Henderson took on Barnes and Nick George and went down 3-11, 13-11, 1-11 5-11.

This is the second 5-5 (sets) draw in succession that Cougars have managed to turn into a slender points win.

A similar draw gave Enham a good 21-16 points win in Division 2 over Hanson Lions.

The star for Enham was Peter Farmer, who bagged three wins, supported by Roy Horner with two.

For Lions, Jonnie Macey played well to win two and with Darren Walkom had a 7- 11, 11-9, 12-10, 4-11, 9-11 win over Peter and Patrick Baker.

Three D’s defeated Hanson Pigeons 29-8 with Marie Dyke and Jessie Yi recording three sets each, with Yi keeping her cool as she was taken to five games by both Blade Medland and Nathan Shears.

The surprise result of the evening was the defeat of Brian Dyke by Medland 12-10, 7-11, 11-4, 9-11, 9-11.

Test Valley A went down 28- 6 to Hanson Falcons, for whom Jason Cullip and Sarah Medland won three apiece.

Cameron Langdown (who recently discovered his eyesight is impaired) showed great improvement when beating Jill Cook 16-14, 11-6, 5-11 11-9 and then just failing against Medland 5-11, 11-8, 6-11 11-6 9-11.

Isabelle Woodfield also improved to take a game off Cullip, so their team can look forward to better results as the season unfolds.
