IT’S been far from the ‘November blues’ at the Portway Stadium this month.

Andover Town have finally found the form that eluded them in the early part of the season and, on the back of wins against Fareham Town and Christchurch, remain unbeaten in the league for the month of November.

Despite a narrow loss to Bemerton Heath Harlequins in the Wessex League Cup on Tuesday night, the in-form Town are hoping to get back to winning ways when they face up against Bournemouth Poppies on Saturday.

Setting out his hopes for the match, manager Neil Benson, said: “We have had a decent run in the league in the last few weeks - we’ve won two games, scored six goals and conceded no goals.

“We’ve had a lot of injuries at the start of the season which hampered us but we have no injuries to speak of now and this will be one of the first times this season that I’ve had a fully fit squad to choose from.

“There are no easy games in this league – we will go to Bournemouth looking to win the game and I don’t see any reason why we can’t beat them.”

Both teams currently sit towards the bottom end of the table with Town currently in 15th, one point above 16th place Poppies.

Town themselves sit ten points clear of the relegation zone, however Benson is hoping that a win away at Victoria Park will elevate them out of reach of the drop.

He said: “If we go there and play our game and get another win it will take us well clear of the bottom area of the table and give us some confidence going forward.”

Kick-off for today's game is 3pm and directions on how to get to Victoria Park are on the Andover Town website: andovertownfc.co.uk.
