AS THE motorsport season comes to an end, thoughts are already focusing on the 2015 season.

This is certainly the case for Stockbridge's Ducati rider Leon Morris, who came so close to winning the Ducati Trioptions Cup this summer and only missed out on the title by 21 points in the end at the final race of the season.

It was a brave effort, as he crashed earlier, which led to him losing a finger between races.

Leon is looking to compete in the championship again next year, a race series which is run over eight rounds on seven different circuits including a trip to Assen in Holland as well as all the top tracks in the UK.

Last season saw Leon record six wins, three second places, three third places, two fourths and a fifth with only one non finish during the 16 race event.

Leon said: “I would like to thank my sponsors for their continued support and also the Andover Advertiser for the interest they have shown and running the race reports after each round.”

As in any form of motorsport, to finish first, first you have to finish, and to do this you need the kit to do a job, and this comes at a price even at the level in which Morris is competing.

Leon is on the lookout for new sponsors for the forthcoming season, and any potential backers can look forward to a return for their commitment in the way of both local and national press coverage as well as TV programming during the season, some of which is shown live.

Leon added: “Also you would get tickets for the Saturday races as well as hospitality with Ducati at the track if you become a major personal sponsor.”
