Andover Ladies III 8 Winchester Ladies Academy 2

ANDOVER Ladies III blew struggling Winchester Academy out of the water with an entertaining 8-2 win last weekend.

Some excellent passing in midfield during the first half from Jojo Hart, Immy Collins and Katy Evans allowed Emma Helsdown, Sarah Rose, Georgie Cox and Alice Goodridge to score as the hosts built up a 4-0 half-time lead.

Andover’s impressive teamwork continued into the second half, with their defence passing the ball around at the back and distributing it well to midfield.

Hart made it five with further goals from Amie Bridge and Karlie Buckley taking the tally to seven.

A lapse in concentration saw Winchester score twice but Helsdown responded with an explosive strike, putting the game to bed at 8-2.

Guildford Ladies 1 Andover Ladies 1

ANDOVER Ladies fought hard to gain a point away from home against Guildford.

Andover’s defence played well in the first half with Hannah Cowley making some excellent tackles and at half-time the scores were level.

Guildford opened the scoring with a scrappy goal, which caught Andover napping but they bounced back, winning several penalty corners.

Ellie Ingram played the ball which finally reached Freyja Haigh who played the ball back to Ingram for her fifth of the season.

Havant Ladies III 6 Andover Ladies II 2

ANDOVER Ladies II suffered their third defeat of the season to a very strong and experienced Havant III side.

The visitors started brightly and almost took the lead but for a fine save from the Havant keeper. Havant then took the lead against the run of play when Andover were caught on the break, but they soon equalised after a tap-in from Emily Lord.

Despite being the best team in the first half Andover conceded another goal towards the end of the half and trailed 2-1 at halftime.

Andover did not start the second half well and in a mad tenminute spell conceded four goals to trail 6-1.

Despite being disheartened at the score Andover picked their heads up and scored another goal through Sammy Meredith, who then had another disallowed shortly after.

Andover play their final game before Christmas against bottom club Yateley tomorrow.

Taunton Ladies Over 35s 14 Andover Ladies Over 35s 0

FOLLOWING their first round win over local rivals Basingstoke, Andover Ladies travelled to Taunton Vale for the second round of the National Ladies Over-35s Cup.

It was clear from the outset that Andover were up against it, with Taunton Vale thundering shots on goal from the outset.

They went on to subject Andover to a superb display of fitness and team work rarely and only a host of fantastic saves by goalkeeper Hannah Kinchenton kept the deficit to 4-0 at half-time.

The second half saw Andover get a few shots on goal but they were unlucky in their attempts.

Andover did not give up but were unable to stop the onslaught and, as tiredness crept in, were relieved when the final whistle blew.
